Poem: Shall I tell you a story

Hello readers, I'm back after a short break. I think this time is enough for a break, not too long, nor too short

So today's poem is on the topic of the ongoing Palestine issue, maybe I'm quite late in this regard, and I should've done this pretty sooner, well, I had intended to do so, but ideas won't come to me and yet, when they had finally sprung up, I picked up my pen and started filling pages of my diary.

Shall I tell you a story?

A story of excitement and happiness

A story of love and hugs

A story of peace and prosperity

A story of the clear blue skies,

and the lush green land of figs, olives, and prophets

A story of the names embroidered on my family tree

A story of my old home

A home long lost

Shall I tell you a story?

A story of tears and sadness

A story of harshness and bitterness

A story of shoves and hatred

A story of loss and despair

A story of patience and resistance

A story of the dark, grey skies

And the grey, barren land of the dead

A story of names written on their legs

A story of my new home

A home that is soon to be lost
